The Beyond Boring Watch Company started with a simple idea: watches should be fun. We wanted to create colorful, well-made watches with distinctive style at a price that makes them easy to enjoy.

But Beyond Boring has always been about more than watches. As a family, we wanted to show our three sons what it looks like to take an idea, build something from the ground up, and create something together that we could all be proud of. After being a “watch guy” for many years, watches felt like the perfect place to start.

What began as Beyond Boring has grown along with us. Today, our family of watches includes both the bold, colorful personality of Beyond Boring and the more traditional side of watch design through Sonera Watch Co. Different styles, but both built around the same idea: creating watches we're excited to wear and proud to put our name on.

As The Beyond Boring Watch Company has grown, so has our vision for what we want to create.

We still love the bright colors, bold designs, and playful personality that define Beyond Boring. But our love of watches extends well beyond one style. We wanted the freedom to explore the more traditional side of watch design—field watches, chronographs, dress watches, and the classic styles that sparked our love of watches. 

That idea became Sonera Watch Co. The name combines “son,” for our three sons, and “era,” representing generations and the idea of building something that can carry forward. The three North Stars in the Sonera logo represent our three boys and serve as a reminder of why we started this journey in the first place.

Beyond Boring and Sonera may look very different, but they come from the same family and the same love of watches. One gives us a place to have fun with color and personality; the other lets us explore the timeless side of watch design. Together, they give us the freedom to create the watches we want to wear.
